According to “No to Prison – No to Execution”, guards raided hall 3 of the Greater Tehran prison (Fashafouyeh) on Tuesday, 15 April 2020, and harassed the inmates.
Though most of the Greater Tehran Prison’s halls are affected by the coronavirus outbreak and infected prisoners are in these halls, the guards spread the disease by storming in with contaminated clothing and equipment.
Prisoners are deprived of having masks and basic cleaning supplies to protect themselves against the virus.
In addition, prison officials use the coronavirus as a business tool to plunder prisoners.
Disinfectant is sold at the price of 250,000 Iranian Rial. Whereas the General Director of Tehran’s prisons told regime’s newspapers that health supplies in prisons are distributed for free, and that the health care provided in prisons is beyond what is regulated in protocol.
