According to “No to Prison – No to Execution”, municipal agents of Kermanshah’s District 3 who had come to demolish a 58-year-old woman’s house, viciously killed her on May 19, 2020.
As the brave woman opposed the demolition of her house, she was beaten, shoved in a loader bucket, pulled on the street and assaulted with pepper spray until she fainted and eventually suffered a fatal heart attack.
“Hengaw” reported that although she cried out, “I have a heart disease – don’t spray me,” the municipal agents dragged Asieh to the ground and sprayed her in the face.
According to witnesses, her half-dead body was taken to the municipality and she died just 40 minutes after the attacks.
Asieh Panahi is a mother of seven – four daughters and three sons.
Government officials confirmed the death of the 58-year-old woman.
Mehdi Ghannadi, the public relations manager of the Kermanshah Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office, confirmed the woman’s death, but wrote:
“She was living in a hut”, and then accused her of “stealing land”! He added: “We are following up on this case due to the sensitivities it has caused.”
The question is, how can a 58-year-old woman with seven children both live in a hut below all standards and at the same time steal land as well? Did she want more than 20 meters of land to build a shelter for her 7 children? And with what permission do government officials kill a 58-year-old mother in front of her children and then put the blame on the victim?
The woman’s death has provoked many reactions in cyberspace;
A user wrote on Twitter:
“To the Islamic Republic it doesn’t matter who you are and where you are, one day they will find you and kill you under any pretext!”
