Daily Brief of Human Rights Violation in Iran April 1, 2021 news obtained by the Human Rights Center of No to prison, no to execution on the human rights violation in different cities of Iran during the past 24 hours.
Shiraz- In the morning of Sunday March 14, 2021, a prisoner who was sentenced to death on charge of murder, Alireza Qorbani, was executed at Shiraz Adel Abad Prison. There was no media coverage.
Mazandaran- The Judiciary chief of Mazandaran Province announced that more than 10,000 decrees has been issued to substitute prison terms. The head of the province’s judiciary said: “More than 9700 have been sentenced to paying fines, 143 to serve public services and seven to participate in observing electronic units.
Shiraz- Saeed Afkari, brother of the executed wrestler, Navid Afkari said that his two other brothers are still at solitary confinement and are deprived of their legal rights. Mr. Afkari posted that his two brothers Habib and Vahid were deprived of right to call and right to medical treatment.
Tehran- Parviz Tarikhi a security inmate is serving his term at Evin Prison since late fall of 2020.
Mr. Tarikhi was indicted with “disclosing classified information of Iran Space Agency” based on a complaint filed by the Security Center for Ministry of Intelligence Technical Know How and Communication in 2018. He was sentenced by Judge Afshin Dehqan on the same charge to two years in jail and two years ban from leaving the country. The decree was upheld at revision court.
Iran- For the first time in eight years the EU is imposing human rights related sanctions on Iran. In a report, Reuters announced that it is for the first time since 2013 that the EU is imposing such sanctions against Iran. A diplomat told Reuters that the EU is pursuing human rights stances and in the recent month it has sanctioned 11 individuals in China, North Korea, Libya and Russia.
The EU sanctioned eight military forces and three state-run organs of Iran for suppressing the nationwide protests in November 2019. On Wednesday March 31, Reuters quoted diplomatic sources that the EU has sanctioned eight para-militias and police commanders of Iran for the bloody suppression of November 2018 protests, along with three state-run organs.
