Daily Brief of Human Rights Violation in Iran April 26, 2021 news obtained by the Human Rights Center of No to prison, no to execution on the human rights violation in different cities of Iran during the past 24 hours.
Tehran- Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliff, the Iranian-British citizen is sentenced to a year in prison and a year ban of leaving the country in a new case opened for her at branch 15 of Tehran Revolution Court. Her last trial session was on March 14, 2021, She was just released in early March from Evin Prison after her 5-year term was over.
Isfahan- The number of Baha’i citizens detained in Isfahan has reached 9. Following group detentions of Baha’i citizens in Isfahan’s Baharestan and searching their houses, Ms. Maryam Khorsandi was detained on April 25, 2021. Yesterday morning as at least 14 residents of Baha’i citizens were searched in Baharestan and some of their belongings were confiscated; Miss Sara Shakib, Ms. Firoozeh Rastinezhad, Ms. Sanaz Rusteh, Ms. Azita Rezvani, Ms. Mozhgan Poorshafi, Ms. Nasrin Khademi, Afshin Vojdani and his wife, Mrs. Noshin Hemat, were detained by security forces. Amongst them Afshin Vojdani was released a few hours after detention.
Tehran- The admin of an Instagram page was summoned to the Cyber Police (FATA) of East Tehran Province for “spreading immoral images” in cyber space and was detained.
Baneh- Yousef Ahmadi, 31, from Baneh who was detained after being shot and wounded by the Baneh Intelligence Bureau forces is still in a state of limbo at Sanandaj Central prison.
Mahabad- Jamal Yousefi from Moshirabad Village and Hossein Ibrahim Hamzeh from Qarehgol Village of Bukan are still in a state of limbo at Mahabad County prison. The two were summoned on Sunday April 25, 2021, for trial but it didn’t take place.
The Ukrainian Airliner- Some family members of the victims of the downed Ukrainian Airliner (downed by the IRGC) sharply reacted against Mohammad Javad Zarif’s comment about this event. Javad Soleimani, husband of Elnaz Nabiee, one of the victims, reacted in a voice message: “Don’t take advantage of the Ukrainian Airliner for your elections. Shut your mouth so that the families would not have to trouble themselves with shutting it for you.”
Baluchistan- A Baluchi citizen, Yaser Hoot, from Palun Village of Dashtyari County was detained on April 25, 2021 by security forces. They raided his shop without having any warrant and took him away.
Urmia- On Sunday April 25, 2021, Daniali, the advisor for “Moshavereh Ward” allocated for political prisoners at Urmia Central Prison took away the TV of this ward. They protested. In response Daniali swore at them and threatened them that he will use other inmates against them.
Marivan- At least five Kolbars (border porters) were injured at a border point in Marivan when the border regiment forces shot at them. They were taken to medical centers of the city. They were: Zaniar Hatam-Panah, Karvan Manoochehri, Salah Vatandoost, Aram Manoochehri and Sooran Vatandoost from Marivan.
Sanandaj- On Saturday April 24, 2021, a Civil activist, Ataollah Rezarbabi from Sanandaj was detained by security forces and taken to an unknown location. There was no warrant.
Sanandaj- On Saturday April 24, 2021, two civil activists; Ms. Marzieh Gholam-Vaisi and Sirvan Abdollahi from Sanandaj were detained by security forces and taken to an unknown location. The security forces arrested this mother and son without any warrant at their home.
Sanandaj- Following the wave of arrest of civil activists in Sanandaj, on Saturday April 24, 2021, another civil activist, Mehdi Sayfi was detained by security forces. They raided his home and detained him without showing any warrant. He was taken to an unknown location.
Isfahan- Sina Shakib a student of Statistics and Usages at Mathematics and Computer department of Isfahan University in Khonsar, term 4, is expelled from the university and deprived of continuing his education because he is a Baha’i. Though Baha’i citizens are deprived of attending a university, sometimes some of them succeed in enrolling but after a while they are expelled by the authorities on different excuses.
Karaj- Coronavirus has vastly spread at saloon 10 of Karaj Central prison. Having in mind total shortage of sanitary gears, medication and medical treatment, the spread of the virus to other saloons with high population will lead to a high number of deaths. Currently this saloon is separated from other saloons only with a curtain. The inmates must wear masks at saloons and public places such as the tailor shop, library and the gym are closed.
Isfahan- On Sunday April 25, 2021, the residence of at least 13 Baha’is in Baharestan city of Isfahan was searched by security agents. At least eight of them; Ms. Sara Shakib, Ms. Firozeh Rastinezhad, Ms. Sanaz Rasteh, Ms. Azita Rezvani, Ms. Mozhgan Poorshafi, Ms. Nasrin Khademi, Afshin Vojdani and his wife Nooshin Hemmat were detained and taken to an unknown location.
