Amir Hossein Moradi, detainee of November 2019 protests at the Great Tehran Prison, is in dire health condition unable to bear jail.
According to the human rights center “No to Prison-No to Execution” on August 17, 2021, political prisoner Hoseein Qashqaee who was recently on a furlough from the Great Tehran Prison, announced in a Twitter post that the health condition of Amir Hossein Moradi a detainee of November 2019 protests is very poor and both he and his family are under harsh circumstances, which get worse every day. Hossein Qashqaee stressed that Amir Hossein Moradi could not tolerate imprisonment, and especially the lie that was raised online about his release had a very negative impact on his condition.”
Hossein Qashqaee has pointed out in his tweets that after Amir Hossein Moradi’s return from The Investigation Bureau his condition was horrible and he could not even stand on his own feet.
Amir Hossein Moradi had told him of the indecent and degrading treatment he was treated at the Intelligence Office and that he was not given his medication. He had not taken shower for two weeks while it has been very contaminated there. This caused his skin condition to recur and his whole body is full of wounds.
Hossein Qashqaee wrote: “I called Amir Hossein’s lawyer, Mr. Paknia. He asked about Amir Hossein’s situation, and asked if Amir Hossein had taken his medications at the Investigation Bureau? I said no, he says I didn’t, he said go ask Amir Hossein again, I went to ask again, and I said your lawyer asked. He said no, and for the second time I told them that Amir Hossein said he didn’t take his medicines.”
Here is a complete text of what Hossein Qashqaee has written about Amir Hossein Moradi:
It was the tenth day that I was transferred from the hall to the quarantine section, suddenly I felt I heard Amir Hossein’s voice, I ran to the hall and saw Amir Hossein has returned from the Investigation Bureau. He was in a very poor condition, he couldn’t stand on his own feet, was nauseous, feverish and had lost a lot of weight’ we took him to the room.
At the first hours, he was a little able to talk. He told us about what happened at the Investigation Bureau, of the ugly and humiliating behavior they had, that they didn’t give him the drugs, that he hadn’t been taking shower for two weeks while it was so contaminating there, and this has caused his skin disease to recur. I saw his skin, he had wounds all over his body.
I gave him some water, but he threw it up instantly. He lay on his bed and told me to call his mother that his illness has recurred, so that she would make an appointment with his doctor and ask the Evin Prison for permission to let him go to the hospital. I called and told his mother everything.
How kind Amir Hossein’s mother is and how much these things are tormenting her. It was for two days that Amir Hossein couldn’t eat anything and his stomach was empty, he vomited yellow fluid. That night I was beside him till morning; he was awake and throwing up.
We took Amir Hossein twice a day on a stretcher to the infirmary to receive a serum, but this wouldn’t make any changes to his condition. I called his mother and told her about him, Amir Hossein got worse every day and whatever he ate, he threw up. We both were awake for a few days and nights.
One day when I called his mother, she said: “tell Amir Hossein if he can get up, to call his lawyer”, I said he can’t get up, but I’ll ask him. She said if he can’t call yourself, I asked Amir Hossein, he said he couldn’t, and I should call him myself.
I called Amir Hossein’s lawyer, Mr. Paknia, asked about Amir Hossein’s situation. He asked if Amir Hossein has received his medications at the Investigation Bureau? I said no, he says I didn’t. He said, “go ask Amir Hossein again”. I went to ask again, and I said your lawyer asks. He said no, and for the second time I told him that Amir Hossein says he didn’t take his drugs.
That day, we coordinated with his lawyer, Mr. Pakenia, to send a letter so that the Evin Prosecutor’s Office would send his dispatch letter to the infirmary, so that he would be dispatched the next day to the hospital for treatment. He was taken to hospital, and I was returned to the ward.
His mother says his condition is worse than when I was with him. I can’t imagine what would worse mean and how he is suffering.
His mother says Amir Hussein has a very low morale now, so treatment doesn’t work. She says that since they lied to him about the promise for his freedom, Amir Hossein has lost all his hope and thus his treatment is not working.
why are you keeping a person who is in this situation, suffering from such a disease in prison? Amir Hossein, his mother and his family are suffering more than they can bear, what do you want from them, you shameless people?
Political prisoner Hossein Qashqaee was sentenced to two years in prison for his activities on social media and went to the Great Tehran Prison on April 3, 2021, to serve his term.
