An immediate execution in Isfahan was carried out after an inmate gained conscious in the hospital and was returned to prison.
According to the human rights center of No to Prison-No to Execution, on Sunday, August 8, 2021, inmate, Salim Mohammadi was returned to Isfahan Prison and executed after his recovery at the hospital.
An informed source said: “The execution date was imparted to Salim Mohammadi a month ago but they promised him that with a bribe of two billion tomans they will annul this degree in 10 days.”
The source added: “Salim Mohammadi got sick for an unknown reason and was transferred to hospital while being unconscious. But as he recovered, he was taken back to the prison and executed.”
Salim Mohammadi was 37 and a bachelor. There is no information about his charges.
This execution is not announced in any official media.
Adding up this execution, the number of executions since the onset of the current Persian Year (March 21, 2021) has reached at least 128.
The human rights center of No to Prison-No to Execution calls for complete revocation of this inhuman punishment. Death sentence is the most inhumane, brutal and mortifying kind of punishment; it violates the right to life, recognized by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
According to Amnesty International more than two thirds of the world’s nations (144 countries) have revoked the death sentence or don’t execute it in practice, but the execution machine in Iran speeds up on daily basis. With Ibrahim Raisi becoming the president and Eje’ee as the head of the Judiciary, the execution of death sentences has speeded up.
Death Sentence, for any reason and on any excuse is in violation of international laws and must be stopped and totally rescinded.
It is worth noting that the Iran’s regime uses the death penalty as a tool to suppress society and create an atmosphere of terror to counter popular uprisings and protests.
And after Ibrahim Raisi came to power, religious fascism has focused on this issue.
