22-year-old prisoner from Ilam, Amir Hossein Hatami was murdered under torture by agents of Greater Tehran Prison; protest formed.
In another crime, a 22-year-old man from Ilam was murdered under torture by agents of the Greater Tehran Prison. The people of Ilam protested and staged a sit-in in front of The Greater Tehran Prison in protest of this criminal act.
The human rights center of “No to Prison-No to Execution”, quoting Hengaw: On Thursday, September 23, 2021, a 22-year-old Ilamian youth named Amir Hossein Hatami was murdered under torture and beating by agents of the Greater Tehran Prison. In protest to this criminal act, the people of Ilam travelled to Tehran and staged a sit-in in front of the Greater Tehran Prison. According to this report, Amir Hossein Hatami died from torture, beatings, and baton strokes to his head. Amir Hossein Hatami, who worked in a Tehran market, was arrested by SSF forces a few days ago due to an altercation with another citizen and was transferred to the Greater Tehran Prison.
Amir Hossein’s father, Aghli Hatami, has refused to receive the body after three days of the murder and has said that “I will not receive the body until you officially announce the reason for my son’s death.”
Following the murder of Amir Hossein Hatami, a 22-year-old Ilamian youth, under torture by agents of The Greater Tehran Prison, the people of Ilam travelled 800 kilometers to Tehran and gathered and protested in front of the Greater Tehran Prison.
According to the report, no one was accountable to the public, and even the warden refused to open the prison door.
Amir Hossein Hatami, 22, was from the village of Lerni in the Shirvan district of Ilam province and the son of Aghli Hatami. He resided in Tehran.

On Wednesday, September 22, Amir Hossein Hatami quarrels with a guard at the Greater Tehran Prison. Seven guards make him lay down on the ground and start beating him with batons on his body and his head. All his toes were broken and bruises were seen all over his body. He was in coma overnight and died of brain hemorrhage.
It is to be mentioned that on September 21, 2021, a political prisoner, Shahin Nasseri, the eyewitness to Navid Afkari’s tortures, was killed in the same prison.
