About Political Prisoner Javad Hosseini-Nezhad:
Political prisoner, Javad Hosseini-Nezhad, is a November 2019 protester who was arrested for the second time on July 11, 2020, and was held in solitary confinement for a month. He was eventually sentenced to five years in prison in a sham trial.
In mid-spring of 2021, when his mother’s health was deteriorating due to cancer, he was not given a leave to visit her for the last time, and she left this world while yearning to see her son.
The prisoner’s sister also died of coronavirus, and prison officials refused to allow him to attend his sister’s funeral.
It is worth noting that authorities at Vakil-Abad Prison in Mashhad transferred him from public Ward 3 to Ward 2, which is home to mentally unbalanced and dangerous prisoners, on Friday, August 27, 2021, to put more pressure on him and torture him.
Transfer of political prisoners to wards allocated to the defendants of common and dangerous crimes, in addition to violating the principle of separation of crimes, is one of the well-known methods for torturing political prisoners in The Islamic Republic’s prisons. Earlier, Alireza Shirmohammad-Ali was murdered in the Great Tehran Prison for this reason by prisoners of dangerous crimes.
