Mashallah Sabzi’s secret execution after 11 years in prison took place, while he insisted on his innocence up to the gallows.
Mashallah Sabzi’s death sentence, which was issued according to a “Qossameh Ceremony” (rebuilding the scene of the crime) due to lack of sufficient evidence was carried out secretly without informing his family and granting them a last visit, on September 30, 2021.
Mashallah Sabzi was executed after 11 years in prison, despite insisting on his innocence until the last minute and up to the gallows. The execution was secretly carried out in Dizelabad Prison in Kermanshah.
According to the human rights center of “No to Prison-No to Execution”, at dawn on Thursday, September 30, 2021, Mashallah Sabzi was secretly executed after 11 years in prison on murder charges, at Dizelabad Prison in Kermanshah, while his sentence was issued through a “Qossameh Ceremony” and he insisted on his innocence. He was executed without his family being informed and they were not granted a last visit.
“Until the last minute, this prisoner also objected to the charge attributed to him and said that ‘I had not killed anyone’,” an informed source said.
Mashallah Sabzi, son of Mohammad Ali, spent 11 years in Dizelabad Prison in Kermanshah in a state of limbo.
Due to the lack of sufficient documents to issue the death sentence, the judges arranged a “Qossameh Ceremony” for his case and the sentence was issued by the judges through Qossameh.
The plaintiffs’ lawyer, an experienced and retired former judge, gathered 50 people and performed the “Qossameh Ceremony”, which led to the death sentence of Mashallah Sabzi.
Mashallah Sabzi himself had said about this retired judge who was the plaintiffs’ lawyer:
“Since the beginning of the case, through the lawyer of the plaintiffs, an experienced judge, they have implemented a false scenario by false documentation. They consulted two individuals and bribed them to say that they have seen me at the scene of the murder. After a month, one of them presented a written letter saying that he was sworn in by the plaintiffs and their lawyer and was seduced. As far as the other witness is concerned, after a review, it was determined that he was sentenced to six-month imprisonment for swearing lie and that his job was to swear lies and that is available in the file.”
Mashallah Sabzi was tortured and harassed for 45 days in the Kermanshah ‘s Intelligence Directorate and its affiliated counties to confess to the murder. Despite all the pressures and tortures, he never accepted the accusation.
In an audio file sent to the human rights center of “No to Prison-No to Execution” in April 2021, Mashallah Sabzi said:
“I am Mashallah Sabzi, a prisoner on death row. In 2010, I was accused of murder and tortured and harassed for 45 days by a court order in Kermanshah province and its affiliated counties to confess to the murder, but I didn’t and there is no confession registered in the file. I was then sent to Dizelabad Prison in Kermanshah.
Since the beginning of the case, through the lawyer of the plaintiffs, an experienced retired judge, they implemented a false scenario by documenting lies and advising two individuals and bribing them to say that they saw me at the scene of the murder. After a month, one of them presented a written letter saying that he was sworn in by the plaintiffs and their lawyer and was seduced. It was determined after some reviews that the other person had been sentenced to six-month imprisonment for swearing a lie and that his job was to swear lies and this exists in the file.”
In another part of his talk, he said that he was suffering from mental problems in Dizelabad Prison and that his has lost his family and they had left him.
