Credible news: Despite the bail set for the temporary release of political prisoner Mehran Qarabaghi, MOIS has prevented his release.
According to the news received by The human rights center of “No to Prison-No to Execution”, on September 30, 2021, the Revolutionary Court of Mahshahr set a bail of more than 3 billion Tomans for the temporary release of political prisoner Mehran Qarabaghi, but when the political prisoner’s family provided the bail for his temporary release, they were told that they would not accept the bail on the orders of the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) and would not release Mehran Qarabaghi even temporarily.
Mehran Qarabaghi’s family has also been told that he is under the care of the Ministry of Intelligence and that he would not be released on the orders of intelligence ministry agents.
On the other hand, this political prisoner has been subjected to special pressures in Qarabaghi Prison.
According to an informed source: “Anyone who speaks and communicates with Mehran Qarabaghi in prison is subjected to interrogation by prison authorities and threatened. Any communication with this political prisoner can lead to the reopening of the new case and an increase in sentences for the other party.
“The Ministry of Intelligence has opened another case against Mehran Qarebaghi and Mohammad Hossein Ansarifar after they were suddenly transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence in July of this year,” the source added.
It should be noted that on Monday, July 12, 2021, Mehran Qarebaghi and Mohammad Hossein Ansarifar were transferred to the Ahvaz Intelligence Detention Center and were brought under pressure. Mehran Qarabaghi was charged with political activity in favor of the Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI) inside the prison. He was interrogated, beaten and a case opened for him while in the Intelligence Detention Center.
In late May 2021, after Raisi took over, the political prisoner and his family were persecuted by intelligence agents under the pretext of Mehran’s conviction for execution and the possibility of the execution.
Threatening his family, intelligence agents told them to ask their child to give up his beliefs before the court officially issues a death sentence and to cooperate with the MOIS.
These repressive measures and psychological pressures and tortures have been carried out under circumstances where no sentence has been formally communicated to Mehran Qarebaghi and his family and lawyers.
