Two brothers were executed at the same time and their mother died after the execution having a heart stroke.
The execution of two brothers in Sepidar Prison and their mother’s stroke and consequence death is one of the achievements of Iran theocratic regime now under the presidency of Ebrahim Raisi. An executioner reigns.
According to reports received to the human rights center of “No to Prison- No to Execution” quoting Hengaw, the executions were carried out at Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. The two brothers were from Ramhormoz and they were Ali-Mohammad Mohammadi, 45, and Islam Mohammadi, 38. After the execution, their mother also suffered a heart attack and died after being transferred to the medical center.
The people of Ramhormoz clashed with repressive forces on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, after the execution of two brothers and their mother’s stroke. At least five people were injured and dozens arrested. Ramhormoz’s internet has been disconnected and the city is fully under security control.
The brothers, along with dozens of other citizens, have been arrested after a tribal clash on May 29, 2015, in the village of Patak Jalali between the two Mohammadi and Mohammad Musai tribes that led to the death of 23 people. “The security forces have killed most of the people by direct gunfire and now they want to clear themselves from the guilt by executing several citizens whose charges have not been proven,” a resident of the village said.
Eight more prisoners are believed to be likely to be executed in the coming days.
Considering the execution of these prisoners in Sepidar Prison, at least 191 people have been executed since the beginning of year 1400 (March 21, 2021).
The death penalty, for any reason and excuse, violates international laws and must be abolished and stopped completely.
According to Amnesty International’s annual report, more than two-thirds of the world’s countries (144 countries) have now abolished the death penalty in law or stopped carrying out in practice. But the execution machine in Iran is accelerating every day, and with Ebrahim Raisi’s presidency and the Eje’i presidency over the judiciary, executions have accelerated. Also, according to a report published by the human rights center of “No to Prison- No to Execution”, executions from October 2020 to October 2021 were at least 314, of which 283 men, 12 women, 13 political prisoners and six juvenile offenders were registered in prisons in 25 provinces of Iran.
