As the systematic impunity rules in Iran regime, we invite the international community to join the campaign of “Do Not Keep Silence.”
Each minute of silence and inaction gives and open hand to the henchmen in Iran for torturing the detainees of peaceful protests and the political prisoners to extract forced confessions from them against themselves as a gear for their execution or long-term sentences, a sheer violation of human rights.
Some of the families of political prisoners participated in the “Do Not Keep Silence” campaign, recalling their own experiences and emphasizing the need to publish the information about these detainees and their situation.
The human rights center of “No to Prison- No to Execution”, December 11, 2021- Cyber space users have initiated a “Do Not Keep Silence” campaign asking all the families and residents of Isfahan and other provinces not to be silent in regard with the detainees of peaceful protests and inform the media and social media.
Saeed Dehqan, a lawyer, participating in the campaign said in his twitter post: “It is the will of the interrogators that the detainees remain unknown and unheard in Isfahan or any other locations in Iran. If the interrogators are afraid from news leaking out, means that with no news of the detainees reaching the outside world the interrogators exert more brutality to extract forced confessions from the detainees. The public opinion is also silent. Do not Keep Silence!”
Also, Saeed Afkari, the brother of the slain wrestler Navid Afkari, emphasized on the importance of informing the media and social media in regard with the detainees and wrote: “Each minute that you conceal the news about your detained beloveds, you give more time to the torturers and more time for forced confessions.”
Saeed Afkari also tweeted that having the experience of his brother’s case, mentioning the legal steps they had taken in vain and the ultimate result; Navid Afkari being executed, “if anybody thinks that they can take more legal steps, they are wrong. The long legal quest gets you nowhere.” “When the detainees are under detention and in solitary confinement, the most important thing you must do undoubtedly is to inform the media and the social media,” Adds Saeed Afkari.
The human rights center of “No to Prison- No to Execution” emphasizes that the only mean to confront an outlaw Judiciary, and in a place that not even small instances of justice and law prevail, the only solution is revelation and spreading information.
Silence is just confirming torture and giving permission for execution. This has been proved in many cases during the 43 years of rule of the Islamic Republic as in the case of Navid Afkari and Mostafa Salehi.
The human rights center of “No to Prison- No to Execution” urges all the families of political prisoners and the recent detainees in Isfahan protests or other cities to act asap to share the information of their detained beloveds with the human rights media and the social media.
We call on all international human rights organizations to help the people of Iran and be their voice. You have the power to make the Iran regime release all political prisoners and stop torture in its jails. Act!
