At the end, the sentence was imparted to Iman in person. His lawyer announced that there is a 20-days deadline to file an appeal at the Supreme Court.
In a former news, the human rights center of “No to Prison- No to Execution” had announced that in a bill addressing the head of the first branch of Fars Province Criminal Court, Enayat Rezaei, Iman Sabzikar’s lawyer, has asked to be able to see his client. He had also announced that all the primary investigations were conducted under torture and through breaking Iman’s limbs and thus they are not legal or credible.
Iman Sabzikar has been severely tortured in one month of his detention. They have broken his jaw and limbs. He has also been deprived of visiting his family or lawyer.
Iman Sabzikar’s brother commits suicide hearing the news of death sentence:
On the other hand, Amin Sabzikar, 34, being detained for 10 days, commits suicide after hearing his brother’s death sentence and unfortunately lost his life.
According to an informed source reporting to the human rights center of “No to Prison- No to Execution”: “Amin Sabzikar was severely tortured during his 10-day detention. He was injected so many times that during these few days that he was released he was in dire condition and hallucinated. The coroner office’s personnel said that he died because of the medicine they had injected but that is not true. When Amin found out that his brother Iman was sentenced to Qesas, he committed suicide.” Once again, the human rights center of “No to Prison- No to Execution” urges the international human rights organizations, European Parliament, Ms. Michelle Bachelet the UN High Commissioner of Human Rights and Mr. Javaid Rehman, the Especial Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in Iran to send an investigative humanitarian mission to visit Iran’s prisons. Life of the prisoners in general and political prisoners in particular, is at stake in Iran regime’s inhumane prisons.
