Human Rights Center no to prison – no to execution, according to Rukna; At dawn, Thursday, July 28, 2022, the death sentence of a conscript named Syed Morteza Falah Delavar was executed in Rasht prison. He was charged of intentional murder of Major Omid Chaipaz, head of the general duty of Lahijan police command.
According to this report, on June 28, 2021, the Omid Chaipaz was stabbed to death by Morteza Fallah while working on his duty at the service place. This conscript had asked for exemption from the Omid Chaipaz several times. But each time he was met with a negative answer and finally he killed his superior.
An informed source told the Human Rights Center no to prison – no to death. “Omid stuttered and was ridiculed by officers. His death sentence was carried out only 13 months after he stabbed his superior to death.”
The death sentence was issued by the third branch of the criminal court of Gilan province and confirmed by the 41st branch of the Supreme Court.
This sentence was executed early morning on Thursday, July 28, 2022, in Lakan prison in Rasht.
Major Chaipaz was employed by the police force in 2005 and had a history of service in the operation areas of Sistan and Baluchistan and was the deputy duty officer in Rudsar, Astana Ashrafieh and Lahijan cities.
It is worth mentioning that earlier on July 23, 2022, the death sentence of Iman Sabzikar was executed in public in Shiraz on the charge of murdering corrupt police officer Ali Akbar Ranjbar.
On Wednesday, July 27th, in a report, Amnesty International warned about the terrible wave of executions in Iran and demanded to stop it.
